Oil on panel signed Antony Serres (1828-1898), in a superb period frame gilded with leaf. Unrestored, completely original. This artist made a lot of oils on canvas, but his works on panel are rare. This one represents a young nun, holding an infant in her arms. Charming and very moving scene. Dimensions of the frame 62 cms x 50 cms and dimensions of the panel 35 cms x 26 cms.
