Achille Fouquier (1817-1895?) 10 : "murahd"

Achille Fouquier (1817-1895?) 10 “Murahd” pencil drawing 11 X 18.5 cm approximately, signed with the monogram and dated 1853, framed by a marie-louise surrounded by a line 25.5 X 34 cm.
This drawing, perhaps a close-up of the previous one, humorously captioned “Murahd doing his kief” shows us a character dressed in the oriental style sleeping outside and relegated to the Marie-louise “Loueur de cheval Anatolia” Tireless traveler, Achille Fouquier brought back from his many travels sketches, anecdotes, observations collected in several books that were published. Whether from the Basque Country (he was mayor of Saint-Jean-de-Luz), Italy, Greece, the Balkans or the Middle East, his drawings taken from life are testimony to the history of these regions
