Specialized expertise "Les Oeuvres d'Ambroise PARE ... divided into 29 books, with figures & portaicts, both 'Anatomy as instruments of Surgery, & of several monsters. " In Paris at Barthélémy MACE, 1607. Strong folio, [13] f., 1228 pages, [57] f., Vintage granite calfskin, spine with 6 ribs replaced, with original parts reassembled, restorations, double yarn gilded framing on the boards, red edges (Frontspice title reassembled with a side part the masked engraving, with some ink stains, tears, repaired in the title, on f. a2 and e1, FF2 and 3 and in the last f., browning, a few sporadic light wetting without gravity, small ink spots p.233, 530, 1037, 1159, lossless tears p. 1053, 1085). Sixth edition of the Works of Ambroise PARE, "corrected and augmented by himself, shortly before his death. They and shared between the Parisian booksellers Gabriel BUON and his son-in-law Barthélémy MACE. The illustration of this edition is remarkable: it is composed many figures engraved on wood in the text, which offer in particular a curious bestiary including many figures of monstrous creatures. Title in a frame engraved on wood, bands and initials engraved on wood. Old manuscript ex-libris of the Hotel- God of Blois (USTC 6024476)
