Very fine, original, refinished neoclassicist Empire Commode / Chest of three drawers with Caryatids. From South Germany around 1810/15.


Wood: Cherry veneer and solid wood. Shellac handpolished and partly ebonized on the edges and feet.

Beautiful original brass caryatids, gold colored heads and feet and ebonized pilaster body. Brass key tags, 1 original, 2 cast. Motif depicts two mermaids facing each other.
