Beautiful original watercolor by the hands of Émile Simon, signed lower left. Dimensions: 28/22 cm With this frame: 42/37 cm Rennes 1886- Squividan 1976 After having followed courses at the Atelier de Cormon in Paris, Emile Simon was a professor at the Ecole des Beaux Arts from Nantes. Prix de Rome in 1912, considered as a neo-impressionist painter, he was the painter of Brittany between the wars in the region of Cap Sizun and Pays Bigouden. At the Salon des Artistes Français, he received an honorable mention in 1931, a silver medal in 1934 and a gold medal in 1935. In 1943, he moved to the Manoir du Squividan in Clohars-Fouesnant with the artist - painter Madeleine Fié-Fieux and her husband. He died in Squividan in 1976.
