Achille Gros Epeugney, 1851 - Dole (?), 1911 Pupil of Charles Nestor Bavoux at the Drawing School of Besançon, Achille Gros is part of the movement of the School of Franche-Comté following Courbet, then Bavoux, Fanart and Isenbart his contemporaries. He became a professor at the Dole School of Drawing (Jura) then curator of the City Museum of Fine Arts from 1889 to 1911. He exhibited at the Salon from 1888, and obtained gold medals in Nancy, Lyon , Besançon, Langres and Dijon. The Museum of Fine Arts of Besançon has his works.
