Camille Claudel born in Fère-en-Tardenois (Aisne) on December 8, 1864, and died in Montdevergues (Montfavet - Vaucluse) on October 19, 1943, is a French sculptor and painter. Her art of sculpture, which is both realistic and expressionist, is similar to Art Nouveau by its skilful use of curves and meanders. Collaborator of the sculptor Auguste Rodin, sister of the poet, writer, diplomat and academician Paul Claudel, her career is meteoric, broken by a forced psychiatric internment and an almost anonymous death. Half a century later, a book (Une femme, Camille Claudel by Anne Delbée, 1982) and then a film (Camille Claudel, 1988) bring her out of oblivion for the general public.
Charles Auffret, born July 1, 1929 in Besançon, died February 24, 2001 in Paris, is a French sculptor, member of the group of Nine who "brings together in Paris artists for the defense and illustration of figurative sculpture"
