Accolay Pottery: African Mask
Artist: Accolay
Accolay Pottery is the generic name for the production of a community of potters living in the village of Accolay, in Yonne on the banks of the Cure.
This production center was created by four former students of Alexandre Kostanda: A. Boutaud, Louis DANGON, Raude and Slavic Pavel.
Active from 1945 to 1989, their pottery is distinguished by a great technical inventiveness and more particularly research on the retraction of certain enamels during cooking.
Among other things, a very beautiful series of ceramic masks was created reminiscent of the early arts.
