Robert Deblander (1924-2010) was one of the great French ceramists of the 20th century and a major figure in the revival of stoneware after the Second World War. Trained at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, he settled in Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye, where he developed a demanding body of work with refined, sculptural forms, straddling the boundary between utilitarian objects and abstraction. His pieces, sought after by collectors, demonstrate great technical mastery and a resolutely modern aesthetic.
