Two silver tripod jugs in a baluster shape with escutcheon fasteners. The hinged and doucine lid is molded with threads. Turned ebony handles.

Gross weight, 571 grams and 206 grams.

Master silversmith for the large model Louis-Joseph MILLERAUD-BOUTY, master in 1779.
Unidentified silversmith for the small model.

Paris, late 18th century.

A jug identical to the large model by the master goldsmith Jean-Nicolas BOULANGER (active in Paris from 1783) is preserved in the collections of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, from the Serge JOYAL collection.

Louis-Joseph BOUTY, dit MILLERAUD-BOUTY, was born in 1733. He obtained silversmith mastership in Paris on January 23, 1779, endorsed by the goldsmith Nicolas CHEVALLIER. On January 30, 1779, he registered his mark, one crowned fleur-de-lys, two grains, LJMB, one star.
We find traces of his work until 1810.
