Fossilized Mammoth Molar Tooth
Rare fossilized mammoth tooth belonging to a "Mammothus Primigenius", commonly called woolly mammoth, which lived about twenty thousand years ago and disappeared at the end of the last glaciation. It spread throughout Eurasia from Spain to eastern Siberia and it is well known thanks to the discovery of bodies preserved in the frozen soils of Siberia. Like all elephants, mammoths had only one molar per half jaw, so four molars in all, and these massive teeth are almost always perfectly preserved, like this one
