"Empire Armchair From Château De Rambouillet"
An important armchair in lacquered and painted beech decorated with palmettes and rosettes from the Empire period by Jacob Desmalter.

Delivered by Jacob in 1805 for the sleeping room of Madame Mère at the Grand Trianon, it was then moved in 1806 to the sleeping room of the Empress Joséphine at the Palais de Rambouillet.

Inventory numbers from 1806, delivery label for the Grand Trianon. The second number under the side rail is illegible.
