"Pair Of Empire Armchairs In Lacquered Beechwood, Early 19th Century"
Pair of armchairs decorated with winged victories, palmettes and claw feet in cream lacquered beech rechampi in green. Empire period.

As under the Ancien Régime, painted seats were common under the Empire. Unfortunately, the gilded furniture being more commercial, very few polychrome examples have survived the centuries, since the slightest seat worthy of interest was gilded...

Condition report: Restored and reupholstered in our workshop in November 2022. Resumption of lacquers of origin. Lyon silks from the 19th century, in perfect condition, installed by our upholsterer.
