Martha Caubios : "young Woman With Clear Eyes"

Of Uruguayan origin, born in Montevideo, Marthe or Martha Caubios was the pupil in Paris of Paul-Albert Laurens and René-Marie-Castaing. Did they make him want to settle in the South West ?

Signed and dated 1936 (twice) in pen typically Art Deco discreet fashion, this "young woman with clear eyes" oil on canvas 35 X 27 cm is mounted in an old silver frame 43 X 36 cm by a marie-louise silver.
