Lovely painting by Eugène PETIT, among the most sought-after subjects of this 19th century artist specializing in still lifes - He was a pupil of Ed. Muller and Dieterle. He started at the Paris Salon in 1863 and obtained a medal in 1873 - He specialized in still life paintings of flowers and fruits - He is also known for his athletic dogs - He taught the American painter Henry Woodbridge Parton in 1875.
His works are present in the museums of Carcassonne, Compiègne, Kortrijk, Rouen, Saint-Etienne, London ...
The still lifes of Eugène PETIT, if they can exceed 10,000 euros in auction rooms, are negotiated generally between 2,000 and 6,000 euros, depending on the subject !!!
