Nice impressionist landscape depicting a lock, signed lower left V.Pargon, for Victor Wilfrid Pargon, and autographed "to the friend Cormier". The friend Cormier is none other than Georges Cormier, the car driver who participated in the Paris-Beijing raid on Dedion-Bouton in 1907. This painting comes from his collection. Chopsticks frame in gilded wood. Dimensions of the painting 21,5x27,5 cm. Overall dimensions, with frame, 26x32 cm. Victor Wilfrid Pargon, born in the nineteenth century in Paris, landscape painter of the Barbizon school, pupil of Cabanel and Vayson. Associate of French Artists since 1884, he appeared at the Salon of this movement.
