Brard French Palissy Majolica platter which features a crawfish, the piece bears maker's marks for the Brard pottery, measurement 5 ¾ x 8 inches (circa 1865)

Brard’s unique treatment constituted an important departure from the work of Avisseau and Landais who had sought strictly to recreate the style of Bernard Palissy.
