Gilt bronze and gilt bronze portico clock, decorated with two caryatid vestae, adorned with winged griffins, above a beautiful flower basket, underside of the dial decorated with a drapery element, base decorated with a quiver with bow and arrows, dial signed Omont * in Rouen, vintage Return of Egypt I Empire early nineteenth century. This clock is in good condition and is of an excellent quality. We have its wooden base and its globe. The movement works, we have the key and the pendulum decorated with a cherub or Bacchus. * The dial is signed by the clockmaker Louis-Joseph-Frédéric Omont (1772-1857) who was appointed Governor of Gros Horloge Rouen (watchmaker responsible for taking care of the clock and who resided in the tower). A note: some scratches and dirt on the marble, some fouling in places on the gilding, a bronze ornamentation (net) moves slightly on one side, some scratches and bubbles on the globe, wear of time, see photos.
