Marcel Couchaux (Bénézit): Animal painter and compositions to characters He exhibited at the salon of the national society Fine arts in 1931. Active in Rouen, he was attracted by the representation of the peasant life of the surrounding countryside, but he turned out to be a better animal painter. With a bill close to that of the pointillists, his paintings are rendered by hatching and small light touches. He is a champion of peasant life. The Museum of Fine Arts in Rouen retains many of his paintings.
