Mantel Clock With Eros, Empire Period, Early 19th Century
Rare mantel clock in patinated bronze, gilded and matte gilded bronze Empire period. The decoration depicts a little Eros (putto) taking refuge in a dragon helmet decorated with a mask of Medusa. The set is based on a first base representing a bed. The second base is adorned with sconces with quiver arches and arrows, on applied sides representing palmettes. Original movement, suspension silk thread, hour and half hour bell. Signature of the watchmaker not legible.
