Grandfather Clock XVIII Century

This oak longcase clock features the following characteristics:
The trunk, which flares upwards and is topped by a molded cornice, opens via a door featuring a raised-center panel set within a molded frame; the top rail is shaped in a "gendarme's hat" (ogee) profile and carved with a central acanthus leaf surmounting a trailing foliage motif.
The hood—featuring curved side profiles and topped by a molded "gendarme's hat" cornice—opens via three glazed doors set in molded frames; the frame of the front door is shaped and carved.
The Comtoise movement features a dial surmounted by an openwork bronze pediment, adorned with a central rooster perched on a medallion featuring three acanthus leaves, flanked by two chicks on leafy branches.
This clock, in a good state of preservation, is an 18th-century piece from Normandy.
