"Box Made Of Straw Marquetry - 19th Century"
Box in straw marquetry opening with a lid on a removable tray and lockers closed by lids. The bottom of the main lid is adorned with a mirror framed by colored straw marquetry nets. The edges of the box are inlaid with motifs at the point of Hungary; the lid is inlaid with a scene of a port in the middle of which are several boats and sailboats, all framed by a garland of flowers and stylized foliage. Very beautiful work of straw marquetry from the first half of the 19th century. Accidents and lack of marquetry; missing the lock.
