Superb frame of XVIIth century wood very finely carved and gilded model said "flowering corners" (rare model) Dimensions with frame: 95 x 79 cm This beautiful portrait executed around 1685, concentrated on the model, strikes by the liveliness of the look and with a calm and serene expression that gives the face a particularly lively character. The importance of the character is highlighted by a pink velvet dress embellished with fine lace and a green stole emerald color. His typical hairstyle of the time is said "to the fontange" Table executed by the workshop of Nicolas de Largillierre (1656-1746), painter of the high society of the eighteenth century. Trained in Antwerp, he worked in London (where Lely gave him the lesson of Van Dyck), then settled in Paris (1682). Protected by Le Brun, he became the official painter of the city of Paris and the great portraitist of the bourgeoisie, with a supple and brilliant style. These portraits represent members of this high society during the reign of Louis XIV and Louis XV. This is a typical example. Largillierre, was a multi-talented painter and he was at ease with both still lifes, historical paintings, landscapes and portraits, his technical mastery allowing him to play with the materials, colors and lights without doing a cold exercise. His portraits always retain a life and a sensitivity that make him one of the great painters of the reign of Louis XIV and the Regency. Very beautiful state.
