Mini Sculptures Clothes : "couples Of Marquis" flag

Object description :

"Mini Sculptures Clothes : "couples Of Marquis""
I immediately fell under the charm of these two extraordinary miniature sculptures, spending a lot of time to detail them to discover all the wealth ...
It seems that they date from the late eighteenth century, but if they had an exotic provenance (America South or West Indies) could date from the first years of the twentieth.
They represent a couple of noble characters, the man in wig, embroidered vest with lace jabot, the woman with the sophisticated hairstyle made, it seems you real hair, wearing necklaces and chiffon top with staples of turquoise beads on the shoulders.
The heads are painted "natural" eyes, mouth and eyebrows detailed, the brown complexion can come from a representation of creoles or an oxidation due to age !
I find a little something Italian in style, maybe Naples or Venice, but without any certainty: in 32 years of career, this is the first time I cross such objects !
Total height 10 cm, busts only 4.5 cm.
State: lack of soclage of the woman, and wear of the dress, small defects of the men's brandebourgs.
