Completely knotted by hand, 900 000 knots / m², wool Kurk & silk, silk weft, vegetable dyes, size: 1,60mX1,10m. A large number of carpet-making workshops are located in and around the city. Many of them, such as Seirafian, Davari, Enteshar and Haghighi, have a worldwide reputation. The motifs are often inspired by the mosaics of the mosques or the gardens and palaces of the city. The carpets of Isfahan are high in terms of the composition of the motifs, the materials and the realization. Isfahan is distinguished by fine carpets, often of extreme density (Senneh knots), and whose chain is sometimes made of silk threads. The material, mostly wool, and the colors are of the highest quality. The motifs consist of medallions with palmettes and arabesques (Shah Abbas motif), but also figurative motifs. Original Isfahan rug, composed of four vegetal colors!
