Object description :

"Cane Knob Sterling Silver XIX 1900 Art Nouveau French"
Beautiful vintage art nouveau cane, the pommel is solid silver (filled) and the shaft in Macassar ebony. It is rare to find this kind french, but the diamond hallmark and the stamp of guarantee "boar's head" we prove the farnçaise origin of the work. The pommel shows a young woman's face in a setting of algae. Maybe is it a representation of a siren. The barrel conical turned wood worked but it remains law. We see a gap in the wood at the junction of the head, this fault is superficial and very discreet. The structure is not weakened and largely supports my 80 kilos. The set is in very good condition. The total height is 92 cm. The head measures 12.5 cm X 10 cm and 25 mm wider (on the face)
