Paris, The Apse Of Notre Dame, Etching By Eugène Veber
Inspired by Jean-François Raffaëlli, he began his artistic career shortly before World War I, exhibiting watercolors at the 1912 Salon des Indépendants that caught the eye of art dealer Durant-Ruel.
In the 1920s, his favorite subject remained Paris,of which he produced numerous enhanced engravings. He set up his studio on Place de l’Estrapade.
The lower left corner reads: “Original etching, artist’s proof,” and at the very bottom of the sheet: “Paris, apse of Notre Dame, the quays.”
This is followed by annotations, likely made by art dealers.
