E. Hazart Thermometer, Based On C. S. Passemant, Circa 1850

Gilded chiseled bronze, glass, wallpaper.

This beautiful thermometer was crafted by Eugène Hazart (1838,1891).

This bronze artist worked with exceptional skill and reproduced the finest18th-century bronze objects.

Claude Siméon Passemant (1702, 1769) created exceptionalfor the greatest minds of his time.

The thermometer features markings corresponding to various temperatures (human body heat, frozen river, etc.).

Two pilasters with fluted columns support the cornice, topped witha cartographer’s attributes.

As with all of Hazart’s work, the chasing is of the finest quality.

Condition:

Excellent condition, beautiful gilding, central panel without any fading; the colored alcohol has evaporated due to a malfunction of the reservoir’scoil.
