Ceramic By Marcel Wolfers, Edition From The Artist's Studio
This sculpture is a work titled *Holocausta Clothed* (or *The Supplicant*) by the Belgian sculptor and ceramicist Marcel Wolfers. Marcel Wolfers is the son of the famous goldsmith Philippe Wolfers.The ceramic is made of white/cream-glazed stoneware, featuring slight glaze cracks characteristic of workshop firings of that era. The signature is incised on the edge of the terraced base: M. Wolfers (visible on the base). This piece was produced in his own ceramics studio (Céramique de Bruxelles / Woluwe-Saint-Lambert workshop), often in very limited editions (numbered on the underside of the base).
