The pieces in series 511 are among the most elegant Art Nouveau furniture ever produced by Gebrüder Thonet. Even today, the designer's identity remains unknown. It is certainly not Josef Hoffmann, as he was accepting commissions at that time. One of the chairs bears a trace of a Thonet label. Provenance: from an architect's collection in Budapest, after having been in a Brussels collection. The condition is good.
