He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. In 1893, he created the tomb of Emilio Koppel (titled “Allegory of Music”), located in the Porte Sante Cemetery in Florence. In 1899, he created the famous Bust of Giosuè Carducci, which was donated to the poet by Marquis Alessandro Albicini and is now housed in Carducci’s birthplace in Bologna. He created the Albicini Monument, located in the municipal cemetery of Forlì. He was named as the creator of a sculptural project dedicated to Lorenzo Ghiberti for the Loggia del Mercato Nuovo in Florence, although the commission was never carried out. Style and Market: He is best known for his academic sculptures and portraits in white marble (such as female busts or allegorical works like *Faith and Charity* and *Naiad Above the Sea Surf*); his works can be found in several Italian museums and in some of the world’s most famous private collections.
