Statuette depicting the Buddha Shakyamuni (or Akshobhya), originating from the Himalayan region (Tibet).
- Iconography and posture: The Buddha is depicted seated in the meditation posture (vajrasana) on a double lotus throne. His right hand forms the bhumisparsha mudra (the gesture of touching the earth as a witness), while his left hand rests on his legs in a meditative gesture (dhyana mudra). The drapery of his monastic robe leaves his right shoulder bare, in accordance with classical tradition.
- The base of the statuette is richly decorated with magnificent, detailed bas-reliefs, featuring geometric floral motifs on the reverse and stylized traditional representations (snow lions and elephants) on the front.
- Exceptional ritual seal: Beneath the base, the ritual sealing plate is preserved and covered with its original coating. In the center of this seal is embedded an authentic Tibetan copper coin worth 1 Sho from the Ganden Phodrang government (early 20th century, 1918–1938). The Snow Lion under the radiant sun is clearly visible, inserted as an offering of consecration and protection. The statuette may predate the seal.
