Miniature On A Mount In A 14-karat Gold Medallion, Late 18th–early 19th Century
A miniature on vellum??? depicting a young girl with a white ribbon in her hair and wearing a white dress in the neoclassical style typical of the late 18th or early 19th century. The portrait is set within an oval 14-karat gold medallion, fitted with a bail so it can be worn as a pendant. The back contains a lock of hair beneath the domed glass. The portrait is in good condition; there is a small scratch on the front glass. Dimensions: 7.7 cm long by approximately 6.4 cm wide. Including the bail, it measures 9 cm.
