17th-century Walnut Chest Of Drawers With A Secret Drawer
A rare 17th-century walnut chest of drawers with walnut veneer and a secret drawer beneath the top. The drawer, perfectly concealed within the recessed frame beneath the top, can be locked using the lock on the first large drawer at the top, which features a double-turn key. The dresser features rich moldings and geometric inlays; on the sides are two beautiful inlaid stars enclosed by moldings. Some of the back panels were replaced at a later date without altering the piece’s originality.
