Large Antique Napoleon III-era Mirror In Carved Oak With Gilded Accents, 19th Century

An important mirror from the Napoleon III period, dating from the second half of the 19th century, circa 1860–1880, featuring an elegant molded and carved oak frame, embellished with gilded accents.

Rectangular in shape, this mirror is distinguished by its dynamic upper section, featuring symmetrical curves and projections, highlighted by fine gilded moldings that follow the contours of the frame.

The upper crossbar is adorned with a gadrooned molding, punctuated by small carved and gilded motifs. At its center is a large decorative carved-wood cartouche, featuring an oval cabochon surrounded by volutes, scrolls, and stylized motifs, with details accented by gilding.

The oak frame retains a beautiful antique patina, with warm brown tones that contrast harmoniously with the gilded elements.

This mirror has retained its original antique glass, in very good condition, showing only a few discreet pitting marks, characteristic of its age.

The back features a traditional wooden construction, reflecting its antique craftsmanship.
