Antique Italian Painting, Madonna And Child With Saint Felix

An antique 18th-century Italian painting, oil on canvas depicting a religious subject: the Madonna and Child with Saint Felix of Cantalice, surrounded by putti and cherubim. The piece is well-proportioned and of a substantial size, characterized by vibrant colors and a luminous quality. The work appears to reference a well-known mystical tradition in which the Madonna, appearing to the saint while he was in prayer, entrusted the infant Jesus to him, allowing him to hold the Child against his chest.

The painting has undergone conservative restoration, including relining, the replacement of the stretcher, and localized retouching. It retains a beautiful patina and is, overall, in good condition.
