Garstin Cox, 1892–1933, British landscape painter. The son of artist William Cox, Garstin Cox began his studies at the Camborne Art School, then studied briefly with Stanhope Forbes and in St. Ives with John Noble Barlow. While touring with Barlow in 1910, his father was able to secure a studio in St. Ives, on St. Andrews Street, so that they could both paint there upon returning from their painting trips. They called it the Beach Studio. He made his debut in 1912 at the young age of 19 and exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy and the Guildhall in London. He died of bronchial pneumonia and the flu on February 28, during the 1933 flu epidemic, while helping to care for his father. Artist listed in the Bénézit. Listed on Artprice, Artnet, etc...
