Pair Of Louis XIV Stools Made Of Walnut And Antique Kilims
A pair of rectangular Louis XIV-style stools made of solid walnut from the 18th century, distinguished by their upholstery of antique kilims. They rest on four richly turned wooden baluster legs, connected by a sturdy H-shaped crossbar, which is itself entirely turned in the same style. The walnut carving retains the subtle irregularities and charm of hand-carved wood. These stools feature traditional upholstery that has been restored and covered with fragments of antique kilim rugs bearing stylized geometric patterns. Their authentic hues (ochre, brick, and beige) have acquired a superb patina over time that complements the color of the walnut remarkably well. This lends these stools an added charm, allowing them to fit seamlessly into both classic and modern interiors, in the city as well as in the countryside.
