Windsor Slatted Chair

Windsor Slatted Chair
Vintage spindle back chair with a black-stained wooden base and a wavy seat made of solid brown wood
based onbased on a design by Ilmari Tapiovaara for Edsbyn
The backrest consists of seven slender vertical wooden posts that taper toward the bottom. They are anchored in the seat and meet at the top to form an elegant, one-piece bentwood frame
The seat is made of solid wood and features an ergonomic, pre-formed, undulating shape (“saddle seat”). This ensures additional seating comfort without the need for upholstery.
Illegible markings under the seat (only fragments of the original label are still visible).
The chair rests on four slender, angled legs that taper toward the bottom. This gives the design its distinctive, airy appearance, characteristic of mid-century modern style.
Between the legs is an H-shaped wooden crossbar (cross members), which provides the chair with the necessary structural strength.
44 cm wide, 42.5 cm deep, and 97 cm high. Seat height: 45 cm
