Cubo-futurist Head, Probably From The Russian School Of The Early 20th Century,
Artist: Russo Anni 30'
This polychrome sculpture, made from plaster, paper, and cotton when viewed from the inside, dates back to the early 1900s. It mirrors the fragile and immediate material structure of Boccioni's early Futurist sculptures. The vibrant, Cubist-inspired polychrome creates a geometric mosaic that outlines a Cubo-Futurist face. The pattern, facial shape, and composition cannot be attributed to an Italian artist; the mystery of its authorship leads us to consider the "rainbow head" likely, possibly, a work of art by the Russian Suprematist circle founded by Kazimir Malevich. Work in the studio.
