Elegant Charles X Dormeuse In Carved And Veneered Walnut – 19th Century

An elegant Italian dormeuse from the Charles X period, first half of the 19th century, crafted from carved and veneered walnut wood, characterized by high-quality craftsmanship and refined proportions.

The piece features sinuous lines, a contoured backrest, and elegantly carved armrests, embellished with rich carvings of plant motifs and volutes. Of particular note are the carved central cornice and the lower band veneered in walnut.

The dormeuse is in excellent overall structural condition, with natural signs of aging. Please note a missing veneer panel on the back and upholstery that requires restoration.

A piece of great charm and quality, representative of elegant 19th-century cabinetmaking.
