Large Mahogany Daybed
A remarkable and exceptional antique mahogany daybed, circa 1820, attributed to cabinetmaker Pierre-Antoine Bellangé.
This model is particularly distinguished by its extraordinary proportions, its elegant architectural lines, and the quality of its gilded bronze ornamentation, notably the imposing lion heads and claw feet.
Its scroll-shaped backrest, powerful lines, and rich decoration attest to its particularly meticulous craftsmanship.
It has retained its original green velvet upholstery with gold motifs and is in its original condition, never restored, though some conservation work may be required.
