Pair Of Louis XV-style Candlesticks
A pair of gilded bronze candlesticks from the early 19th century, in the Louis XV style.
A lovely pair of finely chased and gilded bronze table candlesticks, dating from the early 19th century. Crafted in the true Rocaille style, they feature a dynamically shaped baluster shaft and a wide, scalloped base richly adorned with volutes, stylized foliage, and acanthus leaves in high relief.
The high-quality engraving creates stunning light contrasts between the agate-burnished surfaces and the matte backgrounds.
In very good condition, with superb original gilding well-preserved and showing a patina from use.
