The Diamonds, typical of that era, are arranged in a Navette shape. This style dates back to the 18th century. It is said to have been inspired by the lips of Madame de Pompadour, the favorite of King Louis XV. Legend has it that a jeweler was commissioned to design a piece of jewelry reminiscent of the shape of the King’s mistress’s lips.
This elongated silhouette is particularly flattering, creating an illusion of length on the hand.
