Young Woman With A Rose, J.j. Caffieri
An imposing bust titled “Young Woman with a Rose,” based on the original work by sculptor Jean-Jacques Caffieri (1725–1792). It is believed to be a portrait of the actress Mademoiselle Luzy. The original is in the Louvre Museum. This graceful and mischievous model is made of plaster with a terracotta-style patina and likely dates from the 1900s. It rests on a crimson velvet pedestal. In good condition; note a few slight areas where the patina is missing, revealing the white plaster underneath.
