Terracotta Fountain Figurine, "lovers With A Dolphin"
Sculpted in the round, this terracotta fountain depicts two stylized cherubs and a dolphin, supported by a base resembling rock. The two cherubs with curly hair are holding a dolphin in the classical style. Water can flow from the cetacean’s open mouth. Richly ornamented and featuring a magnificent patina, this terracotta sculpture embodies the sculptural vocabulary of the late 18th century and stands as a testament to that era. The terracotta sculpture stands 92 cm tall. The base is a fluted round walnut column, adorned with a laurel wreath at its base, resting on a square plinth. It stands 86 cm tall. Standard restorations.
