Dutch Sideboard From The Second Half Of The 19th Century
Dutch sideboard from the second half of the 19th century. Thispiece features two doors and a carved drawer, crafted fromhigh-quality mahogany and mahogany burl. It boasts beautifulproportions, making it a versatile addition to various spaces withinthe home. The sideboard comes with a functional key; the wooden topshows some signs of wear consistent with its age (see photos). Thetop previously supported a hutch or superstructure—nowmissing—which left a recessed area at the rear (see photos). It isan attractive and functional piece, with an interior that includesone shelf in addition to the base. The exterior is adorned withhigh-quality, twisted half-columns along the front and sides (seephotos).
There is a small loss to the wooden trim (at the back of the topsurface), a result of the missing superstructure (see photos).Structurally sound and solid, the piece is in fair condition.
