Pair Of Empire-style Wall Sconces With Imperial Eagle Motifs
Pair of 19th-century Empire-style wall sconces. The drapery-shaped base, topped by a column, is made of wood gilded with fine gold, contrasting with the eagle perched on the column, which has a brown patina. This imperial eagle with outstretched wings is very finely carved, particularly around the head, and the plumage is also beautifully rendered! Each sconce features two U-shaped light arms made of gilded bronze. The bowls are adorned with palm foliage, and the brackets are chiseled with rows of pearls and palmettes.
These wall sconces are functional and electrified in accordance with current standards.
