Louis XVI-period pedestal table stamped Charles Topino

Elegant parlor piece in mahogany, white marble, and gilded bronze

A superb circular Louis XVI-era pedestal table, hallmarked Charles Topino, remarkable for the elegance of its proportions, the quality of its craftsmanship, and the refinement of its gilded bronze trim.

This parlor piece features a circular top of white marble veined with gray, encircled by an elegant openwork gilt-bronze railing that forms a delicate balustrade. The purity of the marble contrasts harmoniously with the warmth of the mahogany and the brilliance of the gilded ornamentation.

The rounded band is embellished with decorative motifs in chiseled gilded bronze, notably beautiful applied ornaments depicting bouquets or stylized palmettes.
It opens with a drawer on each side, each fitted with a finely crafted gilded bronze pull.
On either side, two retractable side shelves, integrated into the band, enhance the functionality of this particularly ingenious piece of furniture.

The pedestal table rests on four straight, tapered legs—characteristic of the Louis XVI neoclassical style—topped with elegant gilded bronze feet.
A circular cross-leg shelf, crafted from wood and adorned with a beautiful veneer featuring a grain pattern, ensures the stability of the piece while contributing to its visual balance.

The piece captivates with the harmony of its geometric lines, the richness of its materials, and the finesse of its decorative details. The combination of mahogany, marble, and gilded bronze reflects the refined taste of French decorative arts from the second half of the 18th century.

A collectible piece with timeless charm, ideal for a classic interior, a reception room, or a home with character.
