This is a very rare example of a Chinese bottle vase from the Ming dynasty, made during the reign of the Wanli Emperor circa 1600-1620, also known as Kraak porcelain, exported in large numbers to Holland and other countries in Europe.

A fashion evolved in Delft and Amsterdam to add extra decoration during the beginning of the eighteenth century to increase their value, of which many examples exist. This bottle vase however is thought to have been extra decorated around 1820 in England during the Regency period.

The rim of the neck of the vase has been re-attached and there are some other small damages to the rim. Otherwise good condition.
